Happy Birthday Riley!!

October 9, 2006 my little monster but oh so loving little nephew Riley David Boudreau was born!! Oh what a joy he is!! Never have I seen this kid without a smile on his face!! Dimples and all!! He is so energetic and has a mind of his own!! Yesterday we celebrated his birthday!! Big Devin, little Devon, Riley and I set out on a fun filled day!! We stopped at Panda Express for some lunch and then off to Toys R Us we went!! We walked in and Riley's face lit up!! He was so excited he ran from toy to toy and finally settled on a fun 50 piece construction set! (The set was bigger than him!!) Little Devon picked out a Dallas Cowboys football for his birthday (Yes Aunt Becca Jo is a slacker on his birthday present) and off we went! Came home to Grandma's and Grandpa's and Big Devin and Little Devon played with the football while Riley and I played with the tractors!! So much fun!! We had dinner and cake and ice cream with more presents to open!! I think over all Riley had a great birthday!! Happy Birthday Riley!! I love you!!

Ah awesome Aunt Becca Jo I know!! :)

Saturday night was sleepover night at Grandma and Grandpas!! Lucky aren't they!! Sunday Devin picked up the skidsters so he could bring one back to the pasture and take the other back to Riverton on Monday and Riley and Grace just had a blast playing all over them!! Devon joined in too!! They kept going for hours trying to figure out a way to get them off the trailer so they could drive them around!! Good luck kids!! Haha and then they found the horns!! A day? Week? Month? Ah who knows at the Pasture!!

Well we've began the incredible adventure of fixing up the pasture some more!! Who knows how long it will take or how long we've been at it but here we go!! Lots of pictures so enjoy!!
David, Dad, Devin, and Riley all started out the morning getting our supplies!! Of course someone had to get hurt and that was Dad!! He smashed his fingers between wood and boy did his finger swell up like a balloon!! Holy smokes!! I'm pretty sure wait wait I know it hurt him like you know what!!

Here's the beginning!! Brandon and Grace met the boys up at the pasture and they started to work!! Little Devon ran the tracter tilling up the ground and making it all nice and soft for Aunt Becca Jo to start practicing on and Big Devin, Riley and Grace ran the skidster for a minute until Big Devin had to actually get back to work! And then there's Jake....

Jake had a blast playing in this mud puddle ALL day!! But he sure regretted it the following two days later!! Boy was he completely unmoveable!! He didn't move an inch for two days out of pain!! Poor guy!! At least he had fun right??
Here's Me, Riley and Grace filling in the mud hole that Jake was playing in so Big Devin wouldn't have to do so much work after he was done with the fence, and also to keep the kids entertained!! Isn't Aunt Becca Jo pretty awesome!!?

Cisco baby!!

Cisco baby is home!! WOW!! How weird is it for Becca Jo to own another horse?? Hang on tight people I'm pretty excited!! Kinda a new feeling owning another horse but I think it'll be a great experience to happen!! Below are a few pictures of me, Devin, Manny and Cisco throughout the past month of getting used to him and him getting used to Devin and I!! We are both pretty excited to raise him and get him ready for barrels!! This picture on top is me being a goof as you can tell with the face!!
Devin, Cisco and I the night Cisco came home!! My favorite boys!! Pretty adorable if I say so myself!! Which one is more handsome? Haha yes Devine you got it hands down!!

Sunday we let Cisco out to play with his new friends and he had a blast playing around with the others!

Manny and Cisco! Manny is taking the whip and throwing it around, on, and over Cisco to get him used to the movements and he didn't flinch a muscle or even move!! Quite the show!!

Devin, Cisco, Me and Manny getting tips on what to do next with Cisco!

Hehe me making Devin come raise my stirrups up for me!! :) What can I say? I'm short he's tall yeah he can be the one to put the stirrups up for me lol!! Thanks babe appreciate it!!

Manny, my second dad, and Cisco!! Love these two!!

Mr. Garcia!! This little guy right here sure knows how to scare the crap out of people!! One day while out working with Manny my mom decides that she is going to go wander around. Well all of a sudden we hear her just screaming for my dad so my dad, Manny, and I go running over to see what was wrong. We get over there and she is acting like Manny's horse Little Whiskey is hurt or that she was hurt by a horse. We finally get over to her and she starts to explain that Mr. Garcia jumped out and scared the heck out of her! Haha of course we all just stood there and looked at her and said are you for reals? You scared all of us thinking a horse was injured or you were injured by a horse when all it was was a rooster? Oh mom!! Haha Manny gave her his whip to go get Mr. Garcia back for scaring her but she wouldn't go near him what-so-ever!! So from now on every time we go out there she is on her toes looking out for him!! Silly Garcia!!

My two favorite boys!!

July was quite the month for rodeos!! Lucky me I had the opportunity to be escorted by two wonderful guys, my wonderful boyfriend Devin and my best friend Cody Butcher aka Butch. Aren't they two handsome guys?? I think so!! Thanks guys for everything!! I love you both!!

My Best Friend

It's been over a year since I had to put Bandit down but just wanted to share his story! On April 26, 2009 my Best Friend and Horse Bandit got stuck in a fence and hurt himself pretty bad. We took him to the vet that night and the vet, who's name I will not mention, checked him over barely and said he was fine and it would take about 3 months to heal. Well a week later, Tuesday May 5, 2009 he wouldn't stand or walk on it so me and my dad took him in Wednesday to Dr. Moss and they did X-Rays and came back with some bad news. The cut was down to his coffin bone (not sure if I am spelling that right) and his chances were slim for recovery. They gave us two options: the first was to put him down or second do surgery where they'd go in and clean it out and try and repair as much as possible but his recovery was 5 to 10 percent. I of course couldn't let my best friend go without doing something so I said go for it he's still young and strong!! Plus I couldn't go through life wondering would the surgery have worked if I had put him down.

They did the surgery Friday night and when they got in there they found more bad news. They called Saturday to tell me he had bacteria and infection that had created a hole in his bone that went through his hoof as I understand it. Me and my parents went over there and I of coursed cried and cried and called wonderful Texie and my friend Shaylee asking if there's any way we could get my hair done and do some photos with him before we put him down and they of course were very helpful and we got that done on Sunday. He was as cooperative as he could be and we got some really pretty pictures!!
Monday morning I got ready and me and Shaylee and my parents rode out there to say our last and final goodbyes. Shaylee braided his mane and tail for us so we could keep a little piece of him. Then came the hard part when I had to say my last goodbye. Some people think horses don't have personalities or relate to humans but I sure believe they do!! Bandit and me were two peas in a pod!! He was stubborn and had a mind of his own just like me!! He never liked anyone but a few people and boy if he liked you he'd show it. I told him my last goodbye and told him I loved him and he shook his head up and down as if he agreed!! I will never forget him and our many journeys and trials we had together!! R.I.P. Bandit!! I love you and always will!! You were the greatest horse ever!! June 11, 1999-May 11, 2009
